RX & Illicit Drug Summit

We’re interrupting our regularly scheduled programming to share something BIG — because Lambi has been very busy!

This month, Trish Luna (author of Lambi Learns: A Book About Prevention) had the incredible opportunity to attend the Rx and Illicit Drug Summit, one of the nation’s leading conferences on substance misuse prevention and intervention. It was an inspiring week filled with powerful conversations, meaningful connections, and unforgettable moments — and we couldn’t wait to bring you along for a behind-the-scenes look!

Lambi Learns Meets Some of the Nation’s Top Leaders

Throughout the summit, Lambi had the chance to connect with some truly amazing leaders who are shaping the future of prevention and intervention:

Such an honor to meet Pam Bondi, United States Attorney General, and share the mission behind Lambi Learns!

A truly unforgettable moment — sharing Lambi Learns with Dr. Nora Volkow, Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the National Institute of Health (NIH), and discussing the importance of early, trauma-informed prevention.

Lambi and Trish also had the honor to meet Robert F. Kennedy Jr. - The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services! It was such a special moment sharing how our tools are helping make a big difference for kids across the country.

We are grateful for the meaningful conversations and connections at this year’s Rx Summit! It was an honor to meet with leaders who are doing critical work to protect and support children and families impacted by substance use.

A special thank you to Eric Nation (Executive Director, National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children), Tabatha Curtis (Tennessee Drug Endangered Children Statewide Coordinator), Thomas Farmer (Director and Special Agent in Charge of TBI’s Dangerous Drugs Task Force), and Niki Crawford (Assistant Director of TBI TDDTF) for their leadership and partnership.

We are excited about the opportunities ahead to strengthen and expand support for children and families across the country who need it most.

A Note from Trish

I had such a wonderful experience connecting with everyone who visited the Lambi Learns exhibit booth and poster presentation at the Rx Summit. Hearing your stories, sharing ideas, and having real conversations about prevention and resilience was truly inspiring. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, learn about Lambi, and join in this important work. I’m so excited for what’s ahead — and even more grateful to be walking alongside so many passionate advocates for change.

With all the incredible connections made at the Rx Summit, we know this is just the beginning. So many exciting opportunities are already in motion — and this year is shaping up to be a transformational one for Lambi Learns. Make sure to stay connected with us to see how Lambi continues to grow, reach new communities, and help even more children build resilience, hope, and emotional strength.
